I joined the Modesto Police Department first in 1995 as an Explorer and then became a Police Assistant in 1997. As I continued my education I became a Reserve Police Officer while also joining the United States Marine Corps. I knew I wanted to be a Police Officer and was hired as a full-time Officer in 2004. Becoming a canine handler was a dream as a child and a goal as an Officer.

I joined the Modesto Police Canine Unit in June 2006. I was excited to find out that only a week later I would be united with my canine partner and friend "Fritz". He was born in the Czech Republic on February 25, 2005. He became a certified Modesto Police Canine in November 2006. He has since located and assisted in the arrests of several suspects. In April 2007 Fritz and I were certified in Narcotics Detection and are currently cross-trained. He loves going to work and I could not imagine working without him by my side. He stays with me and my family and we would not want it any other way. Fritz and I are currently assigned to the Modesto Police Department Street Gang Unit.
